• Oval paper box with delicate print of a mother and child on the front
• Title on the lid reads 'Arlette 14 Septembre 1935'
• Handwritten inscription in French the back in crayon: 'Cocarde conscrit Eugene a 20 ans en 1937'
• Inscription translates to 'Conscript cockade Eugene was 20 years old in 1937', which implies that the box was used to gift Eugene a French cockade, or ribbon rosette
• Inside paper lining of the box is slightly stained with red and blue patches of ink or dye (possibly from a rosette)
• Delicate piece but in excellent used condition; a wonderful heirloom with personal historical providence
