Simple Bath Time Ritual January 26 2017
Sometimes the beauty routine can feel very overwhelming; innumerable marketing campaigns clamouring for our attention from every billboard, magazine and online ad. It can all get a bit much. Surely there is a simple way to stay happy, healthy and radiant? Now we can't minimise the value of a good sleep routine, regular, fun exercise and plenty of veggies in our diets, but in the realm of beauty we have a couple of humble suggestions. Today we want to share with you some of our favourite pieces that help to simplify the bath time routine, not make it more complicated than it has to be.
At the moment we're loving the charcoal infused line from Morihata. Made in Japan, the special ingredient in these products is the binchotan charcoal, created by quickly cooling oak branches after they have burned for several days. This unique process creates one of the highest quality charcoals for absorbing and removing toxins from water, the air and even the skin.
1. WASH // Binchotan Facial Puff
The amazing thing about this facial puff is how easy it is to use: simply wet the puff with warm water and lightly massage into the skin. You can use this with whatever facial soap or cleanser you have at home, but if you want to keep things even more simple you can use it on its own and it is just as effective. It is even perfectly gently on sensitive skin. The puff is a sponge made from the Konjac root that is infused with the micro-fine binchotan charcoal powder, so it has all the antibacterial, toxic-removing qualities you need in a good facial routine.
This simple little toothbrush is actually a powerful oral hygiene tool; the binchotan charcoal infused into the bristles helps to fight bad breath and prevent plaque - and even helps the bristles clean themselves when you're finished brushing! We love the extra layer of cleaning power this brush gives us without having to add an extra brush/rinse/gargle element to the process. Simple, sleek and clean this little brush is a big hit at home with the Advice team!
3. DRY // Kontex Nuno Bath Towel
This towel is deceptive. Light and fine, it looks like it won't do what a towel does best - absorb water - but it absolutely does. Quick drying, and taking up half the storage space of the average North American towel, this handwoven Japanese towel is a beautiful addition to any bath time. It feels so plush against the skin and is an absolute joy to use. And if you need a light extra layer one day, you can wear it out as a scarf too!
